First, a little impromptu behind the scenes from my Hudson Valley studio!
It’s a rainy Monday here in the Hudson Valley. But HOT DAMN it is so lush and green and stunning. And I’ll take all the rain we can get in exchange for this vernal beauty.
Speaking of beauty, today’s post is for YOU if you ever find yourself saying things like, “oh I’ll take care of myself when the dishes are done / laundry is finished / my kids are older / get to the other side of this deadline.”
I call this “when / then” thinking and it’s so easy to get stuck in this pattern of delayed living and the de-prioritization of our own needs and wants.
Another hot take on this happens when we actually *do* manage to set aside the time for ourselves but … we only take things halfway. We settle for “Oh no, this is fine. I’m fine.” When really it isn’t and we’re not.
I always tell my clients, “FUCK FINE. Let it be stunning.” And we work through all the mental & logistical hurdles we need to tackle to create a gorgeous rhythm of practice and self-care for them.
